Highway or Expressway to Hell

HighwayHell

"The American Republic will endure until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

Two Quotes from Alexander Fraser Tytler

The elections are over and with the defeat of Mr. Romeny, we have escaped the Highway to Hell. Instead, with the reelection of Mr. Obama, we have taken the exit ramp from the Highway to Hell. Unfortunately this exit ramp only leads to the Expressway to Hell.

But it might be just as well. The only real difference between the Republican and Democratic candidates is that Republicans are amateurish at spending and waisting your money. Demarcates are experts at it. So we will just get to Hell faster, which could be a good thing. The faster we get there, the faster people will wake up.

The only bad thing is it might be too late by then to do anything. And by that I mean vote out the incumbents and vote in third party candidates not aligned with either of the major political machines in this country. First, they can't screw things up any worse, and second it should take a few years for them to be bought off.

Once again Americans have wasted their vote by voting for the problem instead of voting to fix the problem.
